1. Who do you treat for hair loss?

Our patients include men, women, and, more rarely adolescents, as well as burn victims, patients with lupus, and individuals who suffer from facial scarring, turban traction, or hair pulling, and those who have suffered from illness or a medical condition which caused permanent partial hair loss. We perform a wide variety of hair restoration work and pride ourselves on our ability to handle challenging cases.

2. Does transplanted hair last?

Due to our exceptional clinical practice and experience, close to 100% of the hair we surgically transplant at the Hair Transplant Centre will live as long as you do.

3. Is it detectable, I mean, does it look real?

The Hair Transplant Centre is known for aesthetically creating a natural look and hairline that feels, styles and reacts just like your natural hair, because it is your own natural hair – you’ve just reclaimed it – for life!

If you have had a previous transplant, for instance, an old plug style elsewhere and are unhappy about the unnatural look, feel free to call us for complimentary consultation to see if repair work is possible.

4. Is it painful?

When you come to the Hair Transplant Centre, you are welcomed as our guest for the day in a stress free environment. Your scalp is treated with local anaesthetic, and most patients need no further sedation. While each individual’s pain threshold differs, in most cases, clients are relaxed, watching DVDs or reading. When you leave our clinic after your treatment, you are given a complimentary take home Care Package containing everything you will need for the following week until your sutures are removed.

5. Am I awake? Can I see what’s going on?

You’ll be awake throughout the entire procedure. We prefer that you are aware and involved in the entire experience.

6. Must I shave my head?

No. While transplantation may be accomplished more speedily on shorter hair, your pride in your existing hair or how you look takes precedence over need for speed.

7. Do you use speed stapling?

We do not use speed stapling on your scalp. As dermatology specialists, we take the time to hand suture the donor site, as we find healing faster and less painful for the patient (and often a less noticeable scar). Sutures are usually removed after only seven days.

8. What’s the difference between a Dermatologic Specialist and a hair restoration doctor?

A Dermatologic Specialist is a physician who has received advanced training in dermatology for five to seven years beyond medical school. (Dermatology is a branch of medicine dealing with the skin, its structure, functions, and diseases, as well as its appendages - nails, hair, sweat glands). A Dermatologic Specialist receives specialty training and experience in the use of a wide variety of surgical, reconstructive, cosmetic, and non-surgical procedures to treat the skin and hair.

Patients at the Hair Transplant Centre are treated by Dermatologists – which provides our patients with the highest level of training and expertise possible.
